Ergonomic chairs
Adapwork is a Ukrainian brand that develops innovative ergonomic chairs (ErgoChairs) for prolonged computer work. By relying on modern technologies and the latest research in the field of ergonomics, we have created computer chairs that are fully aimed at maintaining proper posture and a healthy back.
It is well known that prolonged computer work leads to serious health consequences due to improper and static body positioning. Even if you have not yet encountered major problems, you have surely felt the negative impact of long sitting in an uncomfortable chair on your well-being and productivity. Constant fatigue, decreased concentration, neck and lower back pain — your entire body signals that it is time to take care of your health. This means it is time to buy an ergonomic computer chair from Adapwork.
The main feature of Adapwork ErgoChairs is their ability to adapt as much as possible to the needs of each user. Various chair components have multiple adjustment parameters that can be individually customized and easily changed throughout the workday.
A properly adjusted ErgoChairs ensures a natural spinal position, reduces daily static load on all its sections, so fatigue and back pain will no longer bother you.
Ergonomic computer chairs with adjustable features are especially relevant for programmers, designers, video editors, gamers, streamers, accountants, executives. They are also suitable for those who practice home office or coworking.
Ergonomic chair from Adapwork: which product line suits me?
All Adapwork ErgoChairs are divided into three series — Lead, Middle, and Senior. Each series is designed for a specific user group. The main criterion in creating the series was the amount of time the user spends sitting. Based on this indicator, the chairs have different characteristics.
- Lead Series is designed for users who spend no more than 3-5 hours per day at the computer. This is a comfortable chair with basic features and a simplified design. Standard materials (fabric upholstery, plastic armrests) and minimal ergonomics make the Lead Series the most affordable in terms of price.
- Middle Series is created for workers who spend 6-8 hours per day at the computer. These chairs feature improved ergonomics, more adjustments, and more durable materials. The upholstery is made of long-lasting textile with increased wear resistance. A reinforced frame, lightweight aluminum base, and built-in mechanisms are designed to handle significant loads — up to 120 kg.
- Senior Series is developed for those who spend more than 10 hours per day at the computer. The Senior models offer superior ergonomics and maximum adjustment options. Premium materials were used in production. The durable elastic mesh upholstery ensures full air circulation, preventing sweating even during prolonged contact with the fabric.
What can be adjusted in an ergonomic chair?
The main structural elements of ergonomic chairs that support the seated body are the backrest, armrests, and headrest. Properly adjusted heights of these components ensure anatomically correct body positioning and a high level of comfort throughout the entire workday.
All Adapwork ErgoChairs in any series are equipped with well-thought-out adjustment mechanisms.
- Seat height adjustment is a very important option responsible for proper posture and ensures the optimal distance between your body and the desk.
- Backrest height adjustment allows you to move the backrest up and down to achieve the most comfortable position, helping users maintain correct posture during work and rest.
- Armrest height adjustment is essential for optimal arm positioning relative to the desk. This helps maintain correct posture and reduces tension in the neck and shoulders.
- Headrest height adjustment provides maximum neck and head support while seated. This relaxes the muscles in the neck area, which in turn promotes normal blood circulation.
In addition to height adjustments, each of our ErgoChairs has multiple backrest and seat tilt positions, depending on the mechanism of the model.
The support base consists of a wide five-star base with caster wheels, which can be easily replaced if necessary.
What technologies allowed us to create the most comfortable work chair?
High-quality smart office furniture by Adapwork is the result of professional engineering and the selection of the right manufacturing materials. All our designs are adapted to ergonomic standards that help maintain spinal health.
There are several international standards and studies in the field of office chair ergonomics. They define the parameters affecting comfort and spinal support. When designing our ErgoChairs, we follow the ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 standard.
The BIFMA organization regularly conducts research and develops standards for ergonomic office furniture aimed at increasing user comfort and productivity. Research has shown the following:
- Static sitting increases spinal stress, leading to fatigue and back pain.
- Dynamic sitting reduces the risk of posture problems.
- Users who work in properly adjusted chairs report fewer complaints about back pain.
- An optimal backrest tilt angle of 100–110° reduces spinal pressure and improves circulation.
- Adjustable armrests reduce tension in the shoulders and neck.
All our products have undergone testing and are certified to comply with the ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 standard.
Let’s take a closer look at dynamic seating and lumbar support. Adapwork ErgoChairs are equipped with a lumbar support system integrated into the backrest. The system is active, meaning it remains in constant contact with the user’s back and responds to their movements, providing continuous lumbar support. Depending on the chair model, the system can be adjusted in height and depth, allowing users to find the optimal position.
Dynamic sitting is a concept that suggests a person should not sit in a fixed position for extended periods. All Adapwork ErgoChairs are equipped with mechanisms that provide dynamic sitting:
- Synchro mechanism synchronizes the tilt of the backrest and seat, allowing reclining without losing lumbar support.
- Synchro Light: a simplified version of the synchro mechanism that enables synchronized movement of the backrest and seat with a smaller tilt range.
- Seat depth adjustment (Slider) moves the seat forward/backward relative to the backrest, adapting the chair to different leg lengths.
- Swivel mechanism provides freedom of movement and reduces static lumbar load.
Our ErgoChairs also incorporate modern features such as 2D headrests and 4D armrests. The 2D headrest differs from a regular headrest by allowing angle adjustment in addition to height adjustment. 4D armrests not only change height but also move forward-backward, left-right, and rotate around their axis.
How to order an ergonomic computer chair based on my parameters?
The correct choice of an ergonomic chair primarily depends on your individual parameters. It is worth noting that our ErgoChairs are suitable for almost everyone due to their wide height adjustment range. Users with heights from 160 to 190 cm can confidently choose any Adapwork chair model. If your height slightly exceeds this range, we recommend visiting our showroom to test the chair in person.
For those who have already purchased a chair but are unsure how to adjust it correctly, we have prepared a quick setup guide:
- To adjust the seat height, sit so that your feet are fully flat on the floor and your knees form a 90–100° angle. If your knees are higher than your hips, raise the seat. Ideally, your thighs should be parallel to the floor, with your knees slightly lower than your hips.
- To adjust the seat depth in chairs with the Slider mechanism, move the seat so that there is a 2–5 cm gap between the seat edge and the lower leg. Your back should rest firmly against the backrest without your knees touching the seat’s edge.
- If the chair has adjustable lumbar support, set it so that it supports the lower back in the natural curve area. The correct position is slightly above the pelvic bone, without excessive pressure or discomfort.
- Backrest tilt angle for work, 100–110° is ideal. To relax, increase the angle.
- The height of the armrests is selected so that the elbows are at the same level with the desk, and the armrests do not interfere with movement.
- The height of the backrest and headrest are adjusted correctly if the monitor is positioned at eye level (or slightly lower), and the neck is completely relaxed.
All Adapwork chairs come with a 3-year warranty. If the chair does not suit you, you can return or exchange it within 14 days of delivery. Delivery is carried out throughout the country via your preferred carrier.
